PACE elects Péter Paczolay judge of the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Hungary

Strasbourg, 24.01.2017 - The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) today elected Péter Paczolay as judge to the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Hungary.

Mr Paczolay, having obtained an absolute majority of votes cast, is elected a judge of the European Court of Human Rights for a term of office of nine years which shall commence as from 1 February 2017 and in any event no later than three months after his election.

Judges are elected by PACE from a list of three candidates nominated by each State which has ratified the European Convention on Human Rights.

L’APCE élit Péter Paczolay  juge à la Cour européenne des droits de l’homme au titre de la Hongrie

Strasbourg, 24.01.2017 - L’Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de l’Europe (APCE) a élu aujourd'hui Péter Paczolay juge à la Cour européenne des droits de l’homme au titre de la Hongrie.

M. Paczolay, ayant obtenu une majorité absolue des suffrages exprimés, est élu juge à la Cour européenne des Droits de l’Homme; son mandat de neuf ans commence à partir du 1^er février 2017 et en tout cas pas plus de trois mois à compter de son élection.

Les juges sont élus par l'APCE à partir d'une liste de trois candidats proposée par chacun des Etats ayant ratifié la Convention européenne des droits de l'homme.
