Conference-debate on transfrontier co-operation and regional languages: the example of the German-speaking community of Belgium

Strasbourg, 29 May 2013 - Karl-Heinz Lambertz (Belgium, SOC), Chair of the Governance Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and the Minister-President of the German-Speaking Community of Belgium, one of the regional structures of these country, will give an address in Strasbourg (France) on 3 June 2013 at a conference-debate on “Transfrontier co-operation and regional languages: the example of the German-speaking community of Belgium”. Karl-Heinz Lambertz is also President of the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) and this meeting will provide the opportunity to take a look at the situation in Alsace from a European perspective.

The Congress of Local and Regional authorities and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Alsace and the Lower Rhine are helping to organise this event.

The conference debate will take place at the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de l’Alsace et le Bas Rhin, Salle Saint-Thomas, Place Gutenberg, 67000 Strasbourg, France at  7.30 p.m. on 3 June 2013.
