Eurimages supports 14 European co-productions

Strasbourg, 19.03.2010 - At its 118th meeting, held from 14 to 17 March 2010 in Istanbul, the Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund agreed to support the co-production of 14 feature films for a total amount of 4 580 000 Euros:

In the framework of its digitisation support scheme aiming at encouraging the use of digital support, the Board of Management decided at its March meeting to award aid for the production of digital masters for the following 14 co-productions supported by Eurimages:

- Lotus Film (Austria) for Megacities and Workingman's Death by Michael Glawogger

- Agat Films & Cie (France) for Rapt and La Raison du plus faible by Lucas Belvaux

- Busse & Halberschmidt (Germany) for Kontakt by Sergej Stanojkovski

- Kvikmynd (Iceland) for The Sky Palace by Thorsteinn Jonsson

- Isfilm (Iceland) for The Dance by Agust Gudmundsson

- Leiknar myndir (Iceland) for Angels of the Universe and Devil's Island by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson.

Within the framework of the Theatres Support scheme, the Board of Management decided to renew the support granted to 34 theatres in the Eurimages/Europa Cinemas network.

EURIMAGES is a support fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works, established by the Council of Europe in 1988 1 (E-mail: Eurimages@coe.int – Web: http://www.coe.int/Eurimages).

Since its establishment in 1988, EURIMAGES has supported 1306 European co-productions for a total amount of approximately 390 million Euros.
