Terry Davis says Congress is vital for the Council of Europe

[28/05/2008 17:00:00] ''The Congress is providing a highly valuable contribution to the Council of Europe work, and my expectation is that this contribution will become even more important in the future,'' Secretary General Terry Davis said in his address to the plenary session of Congress, on 28 May. Underlying the importance of local and regional dimension provided by the Congress for the Council of Europe success as a whole, Terry Davis called on the Congress members to invest resources available to them into areas ''where they will produce the best and the most needed results.'' He also said it was essential that the Congress’s work is focused, efficient and effective.
