Exchange of practice and experience on issues of local and regional democracy and good governance

 

Under this item of the agenda, ministers are kindly invited to intervene and exchange information on recent reforms achieved in their respective countries, experience and good practice on issues of local and regional democracy and good governance, future work envisaged in this field and any other issue of common interest that they deem appropriate to raise before their homologues. As a general rule, speaking time is limited to 2 minutes. This time is subject to change in function of the number of requests and the amount of time foreseen for the item on the agenda.

This item also provides the occasion to discuss the Report on developments on citizen participation in member states, covering also the integration of foreigners in local life, which was requested at the 15th Session of the Ministerial Conference (Valencia, 2007) (Document MCL-16(2009)10).
