Reggio Emilia hosts Italian Intercultural Cities Network

News: Taking stock by the Council of Europe model of the European Network of Intercultural cities, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia invited 10 Italian towns (Torino, Genova, Firenze, Bari, Padova, Lodi, Viareggio, Fermo, Senigallia, Savignano sul Rubicone), in order to create a national network of Intercultural Cities.

Background information: The Council of Europe supports national networks affiliated to the European Network of Intercultural cities, with the aim to compare, identify and disseminate best practices of local management of diversity, thus contributing to promote the intercultural dialogue within member states. In 2008, Reggio Emilia was awarded the Council of Europe Prize for the best Italian City of Intercultural Dialogue.
