Workshops in Cordoba on “Landscape, infrastructure and society”

Location: Cordoba (Spain)

Organised by the Council of Europe, Cultural Heritage, Landscape and Spatial Planning Division – Directorate of Culture and Cultural and Natural Heritage –, in co-operation with the Government of Spain – Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Rural and Marine Affairs – the Junta de Andalucía, Department of Public Works and Transports, and the Centre for Landscape and Territory of Andalucia, Seville, Spain.

Description: Four Workshops will analyse the following themes: European networks and landscape, Infrastructures and landscape in a sustainable model, Landscape criteria for infrastructure design, Infrastructures for the landscape and its restoration. Around 250 participants from all over the world will be present at the 9th Meeting of the Council of Europe Workshops for the implementation of the European Landscape Convention. Background information: The European Landscape Convention is the first international treaty to be exclusively concerned with all aspects of European landscape. The Convention represents an important contribution to the implementation of the Council of Europe’s objectives, namely to promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law and to seek common solutions to the main problems facing European society today. By taking into account landscape, cultural and natural values, the Council of Europe seeks to preserve quality of life for all.
