Introduction

The Dutch host ministers of the 16th Session of the Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Local and Regional Government are organising a fire-side chat for ministers on the evening of Sunday 15 November 2009.

It is envisaged that the document "Innovations in sub-national government in Europe - a quick scan", commissioned by the Netherlands' Council for Public Administration will serve as a reference document for the fire-side chat. This document is sent to LR-IC members as a pdf -file.

The Dutch delegation request members to take note of this document, to flag up any factual errors it might contain and to make any additional suggestions they might have for the content of this document and/or the fire-side chat.
