Notes on the Agenda
Meeting of 24 April 2007 at 2.30 p.m.2
1. European Committee for Social Cohesion (CDCS) –
At its meeting on 27 March 2007, the GR-SOC referred back to the European Committee for Social Cohesion (CDCS) items 1.b, c, d, e and f below for further consideration and possible amendments in the light of the issues raised by the Rapporteur Group during its discussions. The CDCS held its 18th meeting on 29-30 March 2007, during which it finalised these texts (appended to the abridged report).
a. Abridged report of the 18th meeting of the CDCS (Strasbourg, 29-30 March 2007)
b. Statement on the role and future activities of the European Committee for Social Cohesion
The Group is invited to examine the abridged report of the CDCS’s 18th meeting and the statement adopted by the plenary meeting (cf. Appendix 1 to document CM(2007)55) on the role and future activities of the CDCS with a view to bringing the report and the statement to the attention of the Deputies at their 994th meeting on 2 May 2007. In the light of the discussion on the statement, the Chair will submit a concise report to the CM-SUIVI3.
c. Draft terms of reference of the Committee of Experts on social policy for families and children (CS-SPFC)
d. Draft terms of reference of the Committee of Experts on empowerment of people experiencing extreme poverty (CS-PEP)
e. Draft terms of reference of the Committee of Experts on improving the situation of low-income workers (CS-LIW)
The above terms of reference were reviewed and revised by the plenary meeting of the CDCS in the light of the GR-SOC’s discussions during its last meeting.
The GR-SOC is invited to examine the above mentioned draft terms of reference, as they appear in Appendices 2, 3 and 4 to document CM(2007)55, with a view to proposing their approval by the Deputies at their 994th meeting on 2 May.
During the last meeting of the GR-SOC, two delegations expressed possible reservations on the text of the Guidelines on access to housing for vulnerable groups. These reservations have since been lifted. The Group is therefore invited to examine the above-mentioned Guidelines on access to housing for vulnerable groups (cf. CM(2007)55 add), as approved by the CDCS at its 17th meeting (Strasbourg, 7-8 November 2006) with a view to submitting them to the Deputies at their 994th meeting on 2 May 2007, to take note of, without further debate.
