Action

To continue their consideration of the Secretary General’s proposals for priorities for 2008 – budgetary implications contained in document CM(2007)49.

1. At the 993rd meeting (11 April 2007), the Secretary General presented his proposals for the Priorities for 2008 – Budgetary implications set out in document CM(2007)49. His speaking notes were distributed under the reference DD(2007)215.

2. The Deputies are invited to resume consideration of the Secretary General’s proposals, in the light of the discussions within the Joint Committee on Thursday, 19 April 2007 during the Parliamentary Assembly's 2nd Part-Session.

Decision

The Deputies invited their Rapporteur Group on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (GR-AB) and the Thematic Co-ordinator on the Programme of Activities (TC-PROG) to continue examination of the Secretary General’s proposals for Priorities for 2008 – budgetary implications, in the light of comments made during this meeting and of those made by the Budget Committee at its meeting from 9 to 11 May 2007.
