Action

To hold a first exchange of views on Written Question No. 485 by Mr Jurgens to the Committee of Ministers with a view to the preparation of a reply.

1. Written Question No. 485 by Mr Jurgens: “Human rights violations in the Chechen Republic” is reproduced in document CM(2006)32.

2. After a first exchange of views on the Written Question, the Deputies might wish to instruct the Secretariat to prepare a draft reply, bearing in mind that a first discussion on elements for a reply to Parliamentary Assembly Recommendation 1733 (2006) on human rights violations in the Chechen Republic: the Committee of Ministers’ responsibility vis-à-vis the Assembly’s concerns, is planned for 23 March 2006, in the framework of the GR-DEM.
