    Action

    To endorse the recommendations in the 17th and 18th meeting reports of the Committee of the Works of Art, as set out in the draft decisions below and to take note of the meeting reports as a whole.

    Decisions

    The Deputies

    1. expressed their appreciation of Romania's offer to donate a bronze statue "Man, Time, Space" by Ion MÂNDRESCU and decided to accept it gratefully;

    2. endorsed the recommendation of the Committee for Works of Art that the statue should be displayed in the waiting area outside the office of the Secretary General;

    3. expressed their appreciation of Hungary's offer to donate a copy of a 1224 royal edict of King Andrew II of Hungary, granting autonomy in certain matters to the Saxons of Transylvania and decided to accept it gratefully;

    4. endorsed the recommendation of the Committee for Works of Art that the Hungarian gift be placed on the landing by lift III on the 3rd floor of the Palais (area occupied by the Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General and their Private Office;

    5. took note of the meeting reports, as they appear in documents CM(2004)102 and 199, as a whole.
