Action

To adopt the following draft decisions.

At their 1085th meeting (26 May 2010), the Deputies examined the consolidated report prepared by the Secretary General on the conflict in Georgia (see document SG/Inf(2010)8). At the close of this exchange of views, the Chair requested the distribution of the following draft decisions, with a view to their adoption.

The Deputies are invited to resume consideration of this item.

Decisions

The Deputies

1. took note of the Secretary General’s consolidated report on the conflict in Georgia, as it appears in document SG/Inf(2010)8, and invited the Secretary General to prepare his next report in the light of the comments and proposals made at the present meeting;

2. invited the Secretary General to implement the new activities proposed in his report, ensuring co-ordination with the initiatives undertaken by other parties, and to report back in due time on their implementation;

3. called on all parties concerned to facilitate access by the Council of Europe to all areas affected by the conflict so as to be able to carry out its activities effectively;

4. invited the Secretary General to explore the possibility for the Council of Europe to carry out additional activities.
