Action – Item proposed for adoption without debate

To adopt the reply to Parliamentary Assembly Recommendation 1882 (2009), as contained in document CM/AS(2010)Rec1882 prov.

1. The Parliamentary Assembly adopted Recommendation 1882 (2009) on 28 September 2009. At their 1068th meeting (20-21 October 2009), the Deputies decided to bring it to the attention of their governments. They also agreed to communicate it to the Steering Committee on the Media and New Communication Services (CDMC), to the Steering Committee for Education (CDED) and to the Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY), for information and possible comments by 31 December 2009. They moreover invited their Rapporteur Group on Human Rights (GR-H), in consultation with their Thematic Co-ordinator on Children (TC-ENF), to prepare a draft reply in the light of possible comments, for adoption at one of their forthcoming meetings.

2. In the light of comments received from the committees, the TC-ENF prepared a draft reply as contained in document CM/AS(2010)Rec1882 prov. This draft was examined by the GR-H at its meeting of 15 June 2010. The Group agreed to recommend that the Deputies adopt it without further debate at their 1088th meeting on 16 June 2010.
