Decisions

The Deputies

Concerning the 29th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers of Justice (18-19 June 2009. Tromsø, Norway)

1. noted that the theme of the conference would be: “Breaking the silence - united against domestic violence”;

2. noted that the following would be invited to participate in the conference:

    - Member states of the Council of Europe;
    - Committee of Ministers;
    - Parliamentary Assembly;
    - Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe;
    - European Court of Human Rights;
    - Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights;
    - European Committee on Legal Co-operation (CDCJ);
    - European Committee on Crime Problems (CDPC);
    - Steering Committee for Human Rights (CDDH);
    - European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ);
    - Steering Committee for Equality between Women and Men (CDEG);

3. further noted that the Secretariat General of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission would be invited to the conference;

4. noted that the following states would be invited to attend the conference as observers:

    - Canada;
    - Holy See;
    - Japan;
    - Mexico;
    - United States of America;

5. noted that the following organisations would be invited to attend the conference as observers:

    - United Nations;
    - UNICEF;
    - Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights;
    - Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE);
    - The Hague Conference on Private International Law;
    - International Commission for Civil Status;
    - European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC).
