1 6th Conference of European Ministers of Health

22 - 23 April 1999, Athens, Greece 

At its meeting on 3-4 December 1998, the Committee of Senior Officials responsible for the preparation of the sixth Conference of European Health Ministers:

- agreed to modify the title of the theme for the Conference to read as follows : "Ageing in the 21st century : the need for a balanced approach towards healthy ageing";

- noted that Canada, the United States of America and Japan would be invited to participate as observers.

 

Draft decisions

The Deputies :

1. noted that the theme of the 6th Conference of European Ministers of Health will be: "Ageing in the 21st century : the need for a balanced approach towards healthy ageing",

2. noted that the following States will be invited to participate in the Conference as observers:

- Canada

- Japan

- United States of America

 

2 22nd Conference of European Ministers of Justice

June 1999, Chisinau, Moldova

At its 70th meeting, from 30 November - 4 December 1998, the European Committee on Legal Co-operation (CDCJ) took note that the date of the Conference has now been fixed for 17 - 18 June 1999.

Draft decision

The Deputies :

3. noted that the 22nd Conference of European Ministers of Justice will be held in Chisinau on 17 and 18 June 1999.

 

3 9th Conference of European Ministers responsible for Sport

Spring 2000, Bratislava

The themes of the Conference were referred to the Rapporteur Group on Education, Culture and Sport (GR-C), which examined them on 13 November.

The Conference is being prepared by the Steering Committee for the Development of Sport (CDDS) and its Bureau.

 

Draft decisions

The Deputies :

4. noted that the 9th Conference of European Ministers responsible for Sport will be held in Bratislava in Spring 2000;

5. noted that the title of the Conference will be "A clean and healthy sport for the 3rd millennium" and that the themes will be :

a) Combating doping;

b) Sport as a tool to encourage social cohesion.

c) Sport and its relationship to the environment
