Decisions

 

I.         The Deputies, in their composition restricted to Representatives of the member states of the Partial Agreement in the Social and Public Health Field[1]:

 1.         welcomed Slovenia's accession to this Partial Agreement on 1 August 2000;

 2.         adopted ResAP(2000)2 on the prevention of asbestos-induced health risks for workers (replacing Resolution AP (81) 5) , as it appears in Appendix 7 to the present volume of Decisions;

 3.         took note of the opinion of the CD-P-SP on Parliamentary Assembly Recommendations 1389 (1998) on consumer safety and food quality and 1417 (1999) on dioxin crisis and food safety (see Appendix C to CM(2000)127) and in particular of the CD-P-SP's support to the Parliamentary Assembly's recommendation to promote applications for accession to the Partial Agreement in the Social and Public Health Field so that all member states of the Council of Europe can participate in its activities regarding food safety;

 4.         forwarded the CD-P-SP's opinion to the Representatives of the other Council of Europe member states;

 5.         in the light of decisions 2 to 4 above, took note of the report of the 65th Session of the CD-P-SP (CM(2000)127), as a whole;

 6.         brought the above-mentioned report to the attention of the Representatives of the other Council of Europe member states.

 II.        The Deputies took note of the opinion of the CD-P-SP on Parliamentary Assembly Recommendations 1389 (1998) and 1417 (1999) and agreed to resume consideration of these Recommendations in due course with a view to adopting replies thereto.
