Culture and Education Committee tackles e-democracy, minority languages and “creative cities”

02/03/2009 - At its meeting in Strasbourg on 2 March 2009, the Committee on Culture and Education finalised the draft resolutions and recommendations on intercultural cities and on the future of cultural tourism, to be debated during the 16th Plenary Session, and discussed the preparation of reports on “e-democracy for local authorities: opportunities and risks of digital age”, on integration of young people in disadvantaged areas, on minority languages as an asset for regional development, and on “creative cities”, the latter looking into possibilities to make better use of cultural activities in order to strengthen social cohesion and the role of the arts in urban regeneration.
